Volunteers
If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer with the Peer Support Program we are always looking for people to provide a quality recreation and leisure service for people with a disability. This service also provides respite for both the person with a disability and their unpaid carers.
You will assist and support in meeting the needs of people with a disability (members) whilst attending Peer Support Activities. Some of the tasks involved include supporting members to access the community through assistance with money handling, mobility and communication. Also include role modelling appropriate behavior for members and providing a peer support and interaction. A maximum of 16 hours per week on two evenings at varying times is required.
Orientation and ongoing training is provided by DMFSC for all Volunteers. All Volunteers must undergo mandatory Police & Working with Children Checks.
