Hear From Suzanne
In a disability service I was looking for someone that could offer me reliability. Staff that had continuity, that were well trained, had empathy and offered me the service when I needed the service.
My name is Suzanne Smart. I have a daughter that’s 19. Sophie has autism and Global Delay, ODD, ADHD, Gould, and suffers from migraines. The day to day problems that we have are basic things that most people wouldn’t understand. Just getting out of the house is a huge deal. Making sure she’s got her medication, making sure we’ve got her sensory tools. She’s in a good mood to actually go somewhere and have a good day.
My daughter’s been coming here since she was five for respite, after school care, some day programs, some Saturday programs. So we’ve used the service a lot. The staff have been the same since we started. So the continuity again has been fantastic. They have empathy. They’re good with the kids. They understand, they don’t judge. They’re helpful, if there’s a problem they can approach you and discuss the problems. I would definitely recommend Disability Macarthur to my friends as I’ve been extremely happy with the service, I love the staff, they go above and beyond.
The service has really helped my family with having time with my other children, being able to do things on the weekends that normal people take for granted as in going to a birthday party or a wedding or just the normal stuff.
