Hear From Emily
I learnt that I need to see myself as the member of my own family and that if I don’t see myself as a member of my own family and see myself as somebody with needs, then I can’t meet the needs of my children.
How did you find out about Max Family?
I found out about the Max Family Program thru a friend that did the program last time. She posted a link on Facebook about the celebration evening and we’ve came along. We thought that it sounded like something that is really, really good to do. So we signed up for the following one that we just finished.
What did you learn from the program?
I thought going into the program that it was mostly going to be about the NDIS. And it was, but what I learned more than anything was about myself. In learning about myself, basically, how I need to see myself as the member of my own family and that if I don’t see myself as a member of my own family and see myself as somebody with needs, then I can’t meet the needs of my children, basically. So in identifying my needs, and becoming a happier person then that’s what I’m modeling for my children.
What can you take away from the program?
I’ve been able to realise what the bigger picture for not only my child is but also my whole family and enjoying that I’ve been able to not get caught up in the barriers but when things are hard, to be able to focus on the bigger picture and to keep that in my mind in finding solutions to overcoming the barriers that might prevent themselves in getting there.
I would definitely recommend Max Family to anyone and everyone who could do it. Find a way to do it. It made such an amazing difference to me and to my family. It’s unbelievable!
